What a Flow Wrapper Quote Includes
A flow wrapping machine price becomes useful when the quotation says what equipment, options and services it covers, and under which product and film conditions the proposal applies. Begin with the same pack specification and supply boundary for every supplier. This page explains cost factors; it gives no price range or currency amounts.
Request separate descriptions for the wrapper, feeding equipment, change parts, accessories and services. Ask the supplier to identify exclusions and unresolved tests alongside the included items. A quotation for a hand-loaded wrapper and one for an integrated feeding line answer different production requirements.
Write down the physical handoff on both sides of the machine, even for a standalone installation. For a proposed integrated line, ask who supplies the transfer equipment and controls the stop and restart signals. The configuration comparison helps describe the machine before you compare totals.
Machine, Feeding and Options
Product handling, sealing choices and format changes can alter the equipment required. Syntegon's horizontal wrapper technical page illustrates how feeding layouts, grouping, coding and forming arrangements sit alongside the wrapper. That is evidence that scope varies, not a price list or confirmation of LINEVO options.
| Cost factor | Requirement to describe | Written answer to request |
|---|---|---|
| Core wrapper and sealing head | Product range, pack format and film specification | Proposed mechanism, working range and test conditions |
| Feeding and product handling | Incoming arrangement, fragility and pieces per pack | Manual tasks, automatic equipment and transfer boundaries |
| Format changes | Actual products and films to run on the line | Included tooling, additional parts and setup procedure |
| Coding and inspection | Required code, position and acceptance checks | Included devices, consumables, rejects and interfaces |
| Construction and cleaning | Product contact and site cleaning procedure | Materials, access and cleaning restrictions |
| Additional process requirements | Gas, opening aids or other pack features if required | Availability, separate equipment and tests still needed |
Ask whether a listed feature is standard, optional, not offered or to be tested. Keep film compatibility separate from the visual appearance of a sample pack. A printed wrapper photograph cannot establish that the proposed machine will seal your selected material.
ULMA's bakery equipment discussion treats automation and machinery specification as project decisions. For your comparison, describe the actual preparation work: separating items, grouping them, loading trays and keeping the infeed supplied. Record these tasks even when a supplier describes the machine as automatic.
Installation and Delivery Scope
Delivery to a named location and readiness for production are separate budget questions. Ask for the delivery basis, named destination and responsibility for packing, transport, insurance, customs procedures and unloading. Obtain project-specific freight and import advice rather than assuming a machine quotation includes a landed total.
Before ordering, confirm site access, machine placement, electrical supply, and compressed-air requirements if applicable. Ask who performs installation, commissioning and training, what the training covers, and whether travel or accommodation is included. The footprint and utilities guide helps organize site inputs.
Require the quotation to state validity, delivery assumptions, warranty terms and support arrangements. Establish who receives a service request, what remote support can cover and which visits or consumables are separately chargeable. This guide sets no delivery date, service location or response-time commitment; those belong in the written proposal and contract. See installation and training scope when preparing the questions.
Operating Cost Inputs
Collect film consumption, staffing, utilities, consumables, maintenance and production-loss records over the same operating period. Film use should include startup, reel changes, setup and rejected packs. Count the packs that pass your agreed checks, alongside rejects and downtime.
For an operating-cost-per-pack comparison, divide the chosen operating costs by accepted packs from that period. State what is included, and show any capital recovery assumption separately. If one proposal assumes constant feeding while another allows for interruptions, request a consistent scenario before drawing a conclusion.
Include the product mix. A line running repeated short batches needs a record of setup and changeover work as well as running output. Ask how many people are needed for product preparation, machine operation, replenishment and packing at the discharge; do not infer labor savings from the word automatic. The cost-per-pack guide covers these inputs in more detail.
New vs Used Considerations
Compare a used machine against the same product, film and acceptance brief as a new proposal. Ask for the actual machine identity, condition, service records, included format parts, documentation and a trial with your materials. Check whether controls and replacement components can still be supported, and what work is required before the machine is ready for your site.
Allow separately for inspection, removal, transport, refurbishment, guarding review, commissioning and missing tooling where applicable. An attractive purchase figure does not establish compatibility or readiness. The new versus used comparison is a buying checklist; this page does not offer used equipment or confirm its availability through LINEVO.
Requirements and Acceptance Checklist
Give each supplier one written brief. Include product photos and size extremes, pieces per pack, trays or grouping, film identification or an explicit unknown, the intended infeed arrangement, target accepted output and destination. Use the requirements checklist to collect the information.
Agree what a sample trial must record before it runs:
- Identify the product, film and configuration, including the smallest and largest formats to assess.
- Define seal checks, product-damage limits, code legibility and position, and cut-position checks as applicable.
- Record the run period, feeding method, accepted packs, rejected packs and reasons for stopping.
- List untested requirements, changeover checks and actions needed before acceptance.
Keep the target and measured result in different fields. A trial on another product or film can explain a mechanism, but it cannot verify your acceptance criteria.
Get a Project-Specific Quote
Send your quote requirements on WhatsApp. Start with the product and finished-pack photos, size range, film information, feeding plan and destination. Mark undecided items as unknown. Ask which supply items and tests need clarification before a comparable quotation can be prepared.
Enquiries are reviewed by the LINEVO team, and LINEVO is the contracting party for quotations. Equipment, services, commercial terms and any acceptance commitments must be confirmed in the written quotation and contract.
Common Questions
Why is there no standard flow wrapper price here?
There is no approved project quotation behind this guide. Feeding, sealing, options and delivery scope need definition before a price can be assessed, so the page explains cost factors only.
Does a machine price include installation and freight?
Only when the quotation explicitly includes them. Request separate responsibilities and exclusions for transport, unloading, installation, commissioning and training.
Can I estimate payback from the advertised output?
Advertised output alone is insufficient. You need accepted output under your conditions, staffing and operating costs, demand, and clearly stated capital assumptions.
Sources and Scope
The Syntegon and ULMA sources cited here illustrate equipment options and automation scope. They do not establish market prices or LINEVO supply and service terms. The budget and acceptance questions are a framework for preparing your own project brief; the diagrams contain no measured costs or delivered equipment.
