What you can work out here
Flow wrapping encloses a product or group in a tube of film, with a lengthwise seal and a seal at each end. This site focuses on choosing equipment for that process.
Start with the pack you want to make. Use the selection questions here to describe your product, identify what needs testing and prepare the same brief for each supplier.
Questions this site helps you work through
Use the site to work through questions such as these:
- Can my product be flow wrapped, and what should I send for an assessment?
- How will feeding, film, seals and size changes work with my product?
- What equipment is needed before and after the wrapper, and who supplies it?
- Who operates the site and issues the quotation?
Who runs FlowWrapper
FlowWrapper is operated by LINEVO, which also issues project quotations and agreements. The LINEVO team handles enquiries on WhatsApp. You can visit its brand website for information about other packaging processes.
Machine photographs come from the packaging machinery catalog shared by LINEVO and Dession. Some retain Dession markings. They show reference setups; confirm the configuration for your product in the quotation.
How to compare a proposed machine
We suggest starting with your product and working toward a written scope. Photos may answer some questions; handling and sealing may need a sample trial.
- Describe the size range, shape and condition at packing. Include the number per pack and any tray.
- Ask how the proposed feeding, film path and end-sealing arrangement will handle that product.
- Agree what a trial will record, including film structure, running conditions and finished-pack checks.
- Ask the supplier to mark each quoted item as included, optional or still to be tested.
When flow wrapping is not the right fit
Flow wrapping suits solid products that can be fed one at a time or in groups, such as bars, biscuits, bread, cakes, confectionery and many non-food items.
The formats below use other processes. Send a photo of your intended pack if you are unsure which process to discuss.
- Twist-wrapped sweets and foil-folded chocolate bars
- Loose products weighed into bags, such as cereal, snacks or granules
- Premade pouches that are opened, filled and sealed
- Powders and liquids in stick packs or sachets
- Boxes overwrapped in clear film, and shrink-wrapped packs
What this site shows and what a quotation confirms
The guides explain packaging choices and the information needed to assess them. For any performance figure, ask which product, film and running conditions were used, and how acceptable packs were counted.
Quotations and agreements are issued by LINEVO, the contracting party. The machine model, included equipment, performance conditions, delivery and support for your project are stated in them.
